Carbon Peeling
How
How DOES THE Carbon Peel WORK?
The Carbon Peel is a the ground-breaking, non-invasive, skin rejuvenation treatment that is becoming increasingly popular (and accessible) by mere mortals. Thatâs right, you can now get the very same treatment that Kim Kardashian, Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston (and many others) use as part of their skin rejuvenation routine, keeping their complexions glowing and unblemished year after year. The Carbon Peel is incredibly popular as a quick skin refresher as it doesnât have the longer downtime associated with other peels or laser procedures (more on that later), it evens skin tone, promotes brightness, fights the signs of ageing, and helps to remove damaged areas of skinâŚ
WHAT IS IT?
The short answer is itâs a two-step process that involves applying a layer of liquified carbon over the face and removing it with a laser. Before your treatment begins, you will have a thorough and in-depth consultation with our expert technicians in order to create a personalised treatment plan for you and ensure you are a good candidate for the peel. As always, your safety and care are paramount in order to receive the revolutionary results you deserve!
During the first stage of the treatment, a carbon lotion is applied directly to the skin and allowed to deeply penetrate the pores and air dry. Youâll look like youâre wearing a mud mask. This allows the liquified carbon to bond with any debris present within the skin (think: dead skin cells, excess oil, and impurities).
Once the carbon is completely dry, we commence on the second stage using our revolutionary, state of the art Smartrion Q Nd:YAG Laser with 4 wavelengths allowing you to achieve a truly customisable treatment depending on your needs.
The inbuilt PTP mode ensures maximum comfort and super-fast skin regeneration in each treatment. The laser is passed over the skin and the short light pulse is attracted to the carbon particles which absorb the light energy.
This causes the carbon to âexplodeâ into fine particles and then be absorbed the laser. The by-product of this produces energy which is pushed (in the form of heat) deep into the dermis and destroying any debris from the skinâs surface bonded to it. This controlled thermal damage stimulates elastin, collagen, and fibroblast production to specifically target fine lines and wrinkles, whilst the vaporisation of unwanted debris can be life changing for acne suffers and lighten any existing scarring. Any excess carbon is gently removed after the laser segment allowing you to simply lie back and relax throughout the treatment.
Understandably, with all this talk of explosions and lasers you might think that The Carbon Peel comes with its own pain threshold warning, but thankfully youâd be wrong. The treatment is a completely safe skin treatment free from painful side effects. Many of our clients report experiencing very small pricking sensations and warmth, along with slight audible snapping sounds when the laser is fired.
During the Carbon Peel, the skin receives a deep exfoliation making it more more effective than many other peels on the market. Youâll achieve immediate results, leaving your skin brighter, smoother, and even in tone in as little as 30 minutes. We normally recommend a course of up to 6 treatments (1 a month) for the best results for our clients.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
If you wonât find the answer to your question here, we are always here to help.
Our qualified experts will help and guide you through your beauty journey.
Youâd be right; however, the main difference is the choice of methods and ingredients which lead to vastly different downtimes. The Carbon Peel draws out the skinâs impurities and rejuvenates the skin via the heat generated from the laser treatment, whilst more standard Chemical Peels use acidic compounds to achieve similar results via chemical reaction to remove the top layer of the skin.
Accordingly, Chemical Peels have been typically divided into different types such as superficial, medium, or deep peels according to the results desired. In order to achieve the same results as The Carbon Peel these acids need to be highly concentrated which leads to the necessary recovery time needed to combat the common swelling, redness and peeling. This can be as long as 2 to 3 weeks depending on how your skin reacts and heals from the treatment.
With this in mind, Chemical Peels are often not recommended for those with sensitive skin down to the treatment methods (application of acids) and the effects on the skin after that application. By contrast, The Carbon Peel is entirely suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and even eczema prone skin and doesnât require any downtime.
One of the main attractions of The Carbon Peel is the lack of downtime (if any) that is required, and youâll be able to go about your daily routine immediately after your treatment. You may experience a small amount of redness and tingling which sound disappear within a few hours. We would recommend delaying makeup for 24 hours if possible, just to avoid prematurely adding product to your pores.
If youâre after even greater results we recommend combining your treatments with as little sun exposure as possible and abstaining from smoking. An SPF 50 applied daily for at least a month following any treatment is highly recommended to protect the fresh skin cells from the risk of developing hyperpigmentation.
In the highly unlikely event you experience any blistering, keep the area as clean and dry as possible and give us a call to discuss any further action that might need to be taken.
Please note: if youâve recently had dermal filler or toxin treatments, weâd recommend you wait a minimum of 2 weeks prior to undergoing The Carbon Peel.
