What is a Mole?
A common mole is a coloured spot on the skin that develops when pigment Moles, essentially, are a cluster of cells in the skin, the same cells which give us the pigmentation of our skin. Moles can appear, flat or raised and can be dark or light in colour and in many cases are harmless. Moles become an aesthetic issue for some people when they are in places that they are not welcome, in most cases this is usually the face. Additionally, some raised moles can appear in places on the body where they can become highly irritated, such as the neck and underarms.

How does CO2 laser cosmetic mole removal work?

Our laser specialists will apply a numbing cream to the area to ensure complete comfort throughout. The mole is vaporised with the CO2 laser, no bleeding will result from this which is why the recovery time is very quick, just a few days with minimum risk involved. The timings of the removal vary from person to person, timings of the procedure will be confirmed with you at your consultation.

Once the moles are removed an antiseptic cream will be applied to the area, expect a healing process of up to 1 week. You can return to your lifestyle immediately but we recommend you avoid hot tubs, swimming pool or heavy exercising for up to 1 week.
You can expect a temporary reddish mark after the treatment and it is recommended to not expose the area in direct sun for up to 1 month, to avoid hyperpigmentation. Additionally, SPF 50 is recommended to be applied in the first 3 months.
